Dedicated Work

I have a complicated job. I work for a company that helps develop people’s natural abilities, as well as help companies select people who would be a good fit for a position based on their natural abilities.

I’m on the sales side, so I introduce who we are and help to build an understanding of how the science works, and how it can benefit the employer. We can help decrease things like quiet quitting (those who stay at their jobs despite hating it and do as little as possible).

Quiet quitting is often a combination of poor leadership, lack of motivation and/or lack of opportunities to move on. I’ve had lots of jobs, but I’ve always tried to give it all I have, even in telemarketing…I tried hard for a job I despised. It wasn’t in me to give a half-ass effort.

People who succeed in life understand that most situations are not ideal. There is no perfect. You’ll never find something that checks every box. To be successful means to set a mindset that you are willing to work hard and go above-and-beyond what is expected of you.

You might not be in “leadership” but you can be a leader. You might not be responsible to do a task that seems “beneath you” but you still do it. Being a God-fearing man, when I get demotivated I often think about the blessings I’ve been giving from God and dedicate a solid day of work to Him in thanks for those blessings. That tends to get me firing on all cylinders.

What we do for work is all about our mindset, how we frame it. If you view what you do as working for the man, when it gets hard or challenges you, you might give up. If you look at those times as challenges that are driving you to better, you’ll grow. And if you look at your work as a way to honor the Creator, you’ll find joy in every task.
