Thankful for Change
Happy Thanksgiving!
I know what you’re thinking…why on earth did I pick this scripture for a Thanksgiving post? There are quite a few great scriptures in the Bible that talk about thanks…but I like to try to put a spin on things…make you think.
I’m thankful for where my life is right now, but I corrected a path that I was on to get here. I’m thankful that something in me, or something bigger than me kept whispering in my ear, nudging me towards a better path.
I genuinely feel my life should be in a different place. I feel a little behind in everything. I feel like my career is good, but I should be more advanced. I have a wonderful family, but I’m 45 with a toddler. There are areas such as leadership, financially and spiritually where I feel I should be further along.
I blame foolishness. Too many years with jacked up priorities. Too many years with a great ability to convince myself that my excuses were valid reasons. They were not good reasons. I was focused on the wrong things.
So I’m thankful for my growth. I’m thankful I’ve been graced with some wisdom to make changes and blessed with the focus to stick to them.
I’m thankful I can share this with you and thankful you are reading this. I’m thankful that God is working in my life and fueling me with drive to be better on all my fronts. Foolishness still creeps in, but I’m aware of it, so hopefully I’ll keep getting back up.
Be thankful today for all the great things in your life. Remember much of it is bigger than you understand.
