Choose Your Path

Life is full of choices.

Many of the choices we make on a daily basis are small and almost instinctual.

Other choices are enormous and take considerable energy to decide.

How we choose to live our life and dedicate it is one of those enormous choices we don’t often think about. What kind of a person we are seems like it's just the way it is, but in all honesty it's about how we choose to live.

Do we choose to put ourselves first and take care of #1?

Do we choose to focus on others and help them even if it makes your life harder?

Do you choose to have a set of moral codes or do you choose to do what always feels natural or comes easy?

Do you choose to work hard at your job, even if it's not the perfect job?

Or do you choose to just get by?

I make excuses all the time when I don’t get something done or accomplish something, but when it comes down to it, it’s me choosing to let something get in my way or slow me down.

For years, I made my faith the second or third most important thing. I’m glad it was still towards the top those years because it kept a little closer to my values. But it wasn’t #1. The path I chose wasn’t making me a better person, a respectable person.

What I love about the idea of “fear the Lord” is it makes me think when there are problems in the world and my actions/choices. It makes me think and consider how I feel about the chaos happening all around us. It makes me stop and think…not just follow. Sometimes my head feels like I should go one way, but my heart tells me to go another.

The path I’m trying to stay on is a fear of the Lord path, because as fun and exciting as this world can be, it’s only temporary…not even a 100 years for most of us. To me it’s about being the best I can be now, staying close to my code (fear the Lord) and having faith there is something far better waiting for me.
