Unanswered
Unanswered prayers - we all have them. I’m guessing even atheists prayed at some point, didn’t get answered and decided there is no God.
The funny thing about prayer is that it isn’t simply asking for something. It’s much deeper than that. Just because you ask God for something doesn’t mean you will get it. Your heart has to be aligned with your faith and it has to be complete surrender.
Think of it this way. God is like the 5 star general (He’d be 7 stars - if you get that you’re in a good place). He’s the commander and has a strategy to win. He has all the info and insight and there is a plan.
He’s got lots of advisors giving Him ideas on how to win, but if they don’t fit His strategy, He’s not going to ok them. Defiant subordinates may try to carry out “their” plan, but without the approval of the full force, any success will be minimal if it at all.
Just because we pray to God, doesn’t mean they will be answered. They need to be part of God’s plan for us. We need to be aligned with God’s strategy for our life (which is a challenge because it’s not on paper or implanted in our mind). We have to trust in it, even if it’s painful.
We also need to be God-fearing and show respect to God for our prayers to be answered. A general isn’t going to listen to a disrespectful soldier. How do you treat people who are disrespectful? Do you listen to rude people? Do you respect those who don’t care about what you think?
I believe that prayer is very powerful, but it has to come from a true heart. Not from selfish desires, not from shallow faith. As weird as it sounds, it’s about relationship and building favor. Faith is not something you can see, so if you have to see and touch it, I feel sorry for you.
If you want prayers to be answered, fill your heart with trust, surrender and faith. It’s the only way.
